Every movie and TV show, large and small, needs a headquarters, a home base that it can operate out of. This is the Production Office. Even if the production travels to different states or even countries, there is still a singular office coordinating everything. Even though each location can have its own office set up to coordinate the logistics in that location, that office still communicates with a central office.
The production office needs to be able to house the main department heads and Above-the-Line crew members such as the producers, the director, the production manager, the production coordinator and more. The office needs to have space to rehearse, design, have creative meetings and take care of the mountains of paperwork each production produces.
The Production Offices on the Studio Lot will be able to accommodate everything that a production office needs.
Each production office will be around 30,000 square feet of office space. They’ll house executive offices for the producers and directors. There will be conference rooms for table reads and department meetings. There will be large bullpen areas where desks and cubicles can be set up to accommodate the needs of each project.
Each office will have a kitchen to prepare craft service and meals if needed. There will be makeup rooms and dressing rooms for makeup and wardrobe tests. The offices will also have rehearsal spaces which can be used for rehearsals, auditions, design meetings or flex space if more desks and cubicles are needed. The bullpens will be a clean slate that can be laid out for each production’s individual needs. Each office will also have rooms for prop storage and equipment storage with dry storage lockers.
Each office will have high speed internet and phone lines that can be set up when a production moves in. This will all be set up by our Studio Lot Utilities before the production moves in. This takes one more thing off the plate of the visiting production.
Everything needed to outfit the office will be available on the Studio Lot. Desks, cubicles, copy machines, printers, and more will be available for set. Even production paperwork and expendables will be available at the Studio Store and can be delivered to the production office or the set. No need to send a PA to go grab paper when they could be helping somewhere else more important.
